PENDELTON- David A. Kline, 70, of Pendleton, passed away August 2, 2017 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital. He was born October 9, 1946 to the late Victor and Deane (Grossnickle) Kline. His lifelong career with Delco-Remy and Delphi Auto Systems spanned 50 years beginning when he was 17 years old. While working, he earned his Bachelor’s of Electrical Engineering from the General Motors Institute and his Master’s in Engineering from the University of Michigan. He became a Registered Professional Engineer and worked in Georgia for a number of years before moving back to Pendleton in 1999. David had many interests including working in his blacksmith shop and was a member of the Indiana Blacksmithing Association. He also liked to attend the Delco-Remy retiree’s breakfast. David gave his time and talents selflessly to his family and friends. His generosity toward others was demonstrated by his decision to be an organ donor. He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Shearer) Kline, whom he married on August 12, 1967; a daughter, Christina McCaul of Pendleton; a son, William Todd (Jennifer) Kline of Georgia; a grandson, William Kannon Kline; a sister, Vicki Turner of Winona Lake; and a brother, Dennis (Dorothy) Kline of Claypool. The family would like to specifically thank the numerous emergency responders and others that assembled to assist on Wednesday, as well as the wonderful staff at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Anderson. A Celebration of Life Service will be held, 4 p.m. Monday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 East 53rd St. with Rev. Jeff Grossnickle officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wheeler Mission in Indianapolis or the Madison County Humane Society.
