Darlene F. Townsend

Darlene F. Townsend, 86, of Anderson, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born in Kalamazoo, MI on May 14, 1929 to the late Albert and Ellen (Gray) Kenyon and has lived in the area most of her adult life.

Darlene was a very active member of Main Street Church of God and she also led worship services at Edgewater Woods for 25 years. She was a volunteer at Operation Love for 20 years.

She is survived by three of her children, Eileen (Eric) Schornhorst, of Anderson, Jane (Jeff) Antonetti of Gurnee, IL and Ward (Jody) Townsend of Anderson; son-in-law, Mark Ake, Sr., of Anderson; grandchildren, Mark (Nancy) Ake, Jr., Ellen Ake, Kevin (Joanna) Schornhorst, Keith (Amanda) Schornhorst, Christopher Antonetti, Sara (Andrew) Sweigard, Cidnee Townsend, Claire Townsend and Lucy Townsend; great-grandchildren, Michael McKay, Katelyn Marie and Montana Abigail Ake, and William, Cooper, Maxwell, Taylor and Paul Schornhorst; and her best friend, Betty Page.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Townsend and her daughter, Kathy Ake.

Services will be 11am Saturday at Main Street Church of God with Pastor Don Billey officiating. Burial will be in Bronnenberg Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 4-8pm Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
