Daphne L. Maxwell

Daphne L. Maxwell, 66, of Pendleton, passed away on December 29, 2023.  She was born on July 21, 1957 in Anderson, IN to the James Pugh Sr., and the late Judith (Mingle) Geoffrey.

Daphne worked for PayLess as a cashier for over 30 years.  Things that Daphne loved to do include her riding horses, drawing, kayaking, and even watching NASCAR.  Daphne and her late husband Larry Maxwell would go every year to the Brickyard to watch the race.  She was also just a special woman, where she would do anything for anybody if they asked for her help.

Daphne is survived by her father, her daughter, Tara Maxwell; brother, James Pugh Jr., sisters, Diana Pugh, Denise Noel Slone, and Rebecca Robertson; grandchildren, Tracy Price III, Tonna Nae Joy Price, and Oliver Stone Maxwell, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Maxwell; son, Joseph Levi Maxwell; sister, Darcie Ann Pugh; grandparents, Donald D. and Muriel Pugh, and Hugh and Betty Mingle.

The visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53^rd St., Anderson, IN 46013. The memorial service will begin at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Services have been entrusted to Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory.

After services have concluded, the family has invited everyone to a luncheon held at Daphne Maxwell’s house.
