Danny Swan

April 4, 1952 — August 19, 2015

Danny “Joe” Swan, 63, of Anderson, passed away August 19, 2015.
He was the son of Tony and Gaye (Maxey) Swan and was a lifelong Anderson resident. He retired from General Motors after 34 years of service.
He was a singing cowboy with no horse. His love for others was only outshined by his love of God. He moved through life with a giving gentle spirit looking for the next person to help. His tremendous love for his family was his driving force in his life. He served in anyway God presented to him, including singing with the Swan Family, UAW Chaplin at Fort Wayne, bass player at Anderson First Church of the Nazarene
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kathie Swan; mother, Gaye Swan; children, Lisa (Eric) Danner, Joshua (Christy) Swan, Lexi Swan, and a special son, Jim Whitson; grandchildren, Sam, Nicholas, Jameson, Joseph, Rickie, Kyla, and Cody; sisters and brother, Linda (Mark) Aleshire, Steve (Carolyn) Swan, Peggy (Doug) Meredith, Missy Kriner; and a sister-in-law, Angi Swan; Goddaughters, BreAnn New and Brooke Marshall and Carly Jones.
He was preceded in death by his father, Tony Swan; brother, Mark Swan; and brother-in-law, Jimmy Kriner.
Services will be 11 am Monday at the First Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. Gary Cable officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory 515 E. 53rd St. Anderson.
