Daniel C. "Biker Dan" Gathman, 58, Lapel, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born on June 6, 1964, in Tipton, Indiana, to Charles and Dixie (DeVaney) Gathman.
Danny graduated from Tipton High School, class of 1982. MMFN Daniel C. Gathman, USN served his country in the US Navy, spending time in the Philippines and on board the USS Gridley CG-21.
He was a driver for Pendleton Trucking, spending many years in the concrete and asphalt industry.
Danny was a member and service officer of the Lapel American Legion Post #212. He was also a past member and chaplain of the Tipton American Legion Post #46.
If you knew Danny you would know his passion for motorcycles, and living life to the fullest was important. He loved spending time with his friends that became family and absolutely enjoyed his beloved dog , Cooper. When remembering him, those who loved Danny can smile thinking about the endearing middle finger that was always given with love.
Danny is survived by his daughter, Kendra Nevitt of Noblesville; stepson, James (Amanda) Foist of Greenwood; stepdaughter, Heather Clarkson of Columbus; a granddaughter whom he raised, Cheyenne Clarkson; eight grandchildren, Logan, Cort and Lenlee Nevitt, Lizzie and Ethan Foist, and Memphis, Adarius and DeMarcus Nolan; one great-grandchild, Messiah Seewald; his ex-wife, Renee Gathman; and many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Douglas Gathman; and a nephew, Eric Gathman.
Per Danny's wishes, there will be no services. Cremation will take place.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the Lapel American Legion Post #212, 1600 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051.
Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Homes been entrusted with Danny's care.
