Dale R. “Cookie” Cook, Sr., passed from earth to his heavenly home on Tuesday, September 1, 2015.
He was born on December 20, 1939 to the late Chester E. and Helen (Keene) Cook in Grant County, Indiana.
Dale was a semi-truck driver for many years, driving for E.M. Transfer of Muncie, McLain Trucking and Roadway Express. He was a member of the Southdale Church of the Nazarene and a member of Teamster’s Local 135. He loved to fish, camp, tell jokes and help anyone who needed it. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Dale is survived by his wife, Patty (Tolle) Cook; daughters, Debbie (husband, Gary) Southerland, Julie (husband, Todd) Norris and Sandy (husband, Kirk) Bennett, all of Anderson; son, Dale Cook, Jr. of Cold Springs, KY; grandchildren, Karen (Joshua) Ebbert, Eric (Jara) Southerland, Shaun (Danielle) Southerland, Jamie (Joshua) Shepherd, Michael Cook, Christopher Cook, Jeremiah Norris and Ashton (Cameron) Vannatta; great-grandchildren, Austin Russell, Joshua Ebbert, Allison Southerland, Autumn Southerland, Jourdan Southerland, Corbin Southerland, Bentley Shepherd, Lillian Shepherd and Colin Cook; great-great-grandchildren, Hayden Russell and Carter Russell; sisters, Phyllis Mulry of Indianapolis and Barbara Lawson of CA and twin sister, Gayl Plank of Dunlap; and his two furry friends and pals, Blondie and Stinky Poo; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Chester Cook, Jr. and Melvin Cook.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, at the Southdale Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. Brad Buhro officiating and military honors by VFW Post 266.
Visitation will be from 11 to 1 at the church.
Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Cremation has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
