Dale Hersberger

Dale Hersberger, 78, Anderson, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2004, at Saint John's Health System in Anderson following a brief illness. He was born on December 11, 1925, in Madison County, Indiana to Dale and Sharley (Stottlemyer) Hersberger. He was a 1943 Lapel High School graduate and he served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He retired in 1974 from the Anderson Fire Department and was the owner and operator of Hersberger Realty in Anderson. He was a member of the Wesley Free Methodist Church in Anderson, member and past president of both the Gideons International Madison Counthy North Camp and the Frankton Lions Club. He is survived his wife, Mary (Dickerson) Hersberger; three sons, Rodney (wife, Susan) Hersberger of Bakersfield, CA, Bradley Hersberger of Alexandria, and Brian (wife, Sherry) Hersberger of Pendleton; four step-children, Susan (husband, David) Smith of Anderson, Paul (wife, Polly) Keesling of Columbia, TN, Elaine Toles of Markleville, and Lisa Keesing (friend, Mark Easley) of Anderson; one brother, Keith Hersberger of Anderson; two sisters, Jean Henley of Yorktown, VA, and Harriett Spearman of Anderson; twelve grandchildren, Mark Hersberger, Kate (husband, Brad) Greenberg, Lyndsey Wright, Leslie Hersberger, Zach Wright, Kevin Smith, Leigh Smith, Jason, Keesling, Adam Smith, Ian Keesling, Diane Smith, and Justin Holbrook; and four great grandchildren, Bryce Smith, Ashton Keesling, Reagan Arthur, and Collin Keesling. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn (Shuter) Hersberger in 1999; two sisters, Virginia Dillie and Vivian Williams; and one brother, Kenneth Hersberger. Services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday at Wesley Free Methodist Church in Anderson with Rev. John Lane officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery, Lapel. Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons International, P. O.
