Connie Smitherman

Connie Yvonne (Long) Smitherman, 80, of Ingalls, Indiana, passed away on December 27, 2022, in Carmel, surrounded by her family.

Calling hours will be 1:00pm – 4:00 pm, January 2, 2022 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home in Pendleton. A memorial service will immediately proceed at 4:00pm

Connie was born in Bonne Terre, Missouri to Lindell and Mildred Long on November 25, 1942.  She married Tony W. Smitherman on February 18, 1967, in New Castle, Indiana.   She retired from the Indiana Department of Corrections after working there for over 20 years.  She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Bobby Knight.

Connie is preceded in death by her husband, Tony, and her parents.

Connie is survived by her sons, Gary, Brian (Jennifer), Steven (Casey), and daughter, Paula (David) Neal, sisters, Kay Easter and Karen Fish, 15 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and several dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Wheeler Mission.
