Clyde L. Turner

Clyde L. Turner, 89, Anderson, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017, at his home following an extended illness.
He was born on March 8, 1928, in Muncie to Jonathan and Edith (Heath) Turner.
Clyde was graduated from Cowan High School in 1946 and served in the U. S. Army post WWII.
He retired in 1997 from Yellow Freight. He had also driven for other companies and at one time owned his own fleet.
Clyde enjoyed spending time with his family and they were his main concern. He also enjoyed traveling and had visited all 50 states. He was especially proud of his drive to Alaska.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jane (Nugen); two sons, Chuck Turner and David (wife, Joyce) Turner both of Anderson; five grandchildren, Christa (husband, Jim) Walling, Benjamin Turner (Beth Fuller), Joseph Turner (Michael Hoess), Hayden Turner and Trevor Turner; two great-grandsons, Gus and Abe Walling; and a special friend and caregiver, Renee Jones.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Louise Beavers; one brother, Robert Turner; and his step-mother, Bertha.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 Main North Street, Lapel with Pastor Sherrie Drake officiating. Burial will follow in Lewisville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 Main North Street, Lapel.
