Throughout the course of his career, Cliff was often the top salesperson with companies such as Xerox and Northern Telecom, which earned him a spot in the President's Club and allowed him and Nancy to do a lot of traveling. They took several amazing trips to places like Egypt, Rome, Amsterdam, Puerto Rico, Acapulco, and many other destinations. He loved to travel, and after retirement he was able to take a trip with his daughter Christy to Alaska, with grandson Nathan to San Francisco and with both Christy and Jennifer just this past spring on a train trip to Utah and Colorado, which he enjoyed immensely.
At heart, Cliff was an entrepreneur, founding multiple businesses over the past 40 years. In 1997 he won Ernst & Young's Minority Entrepreneur of the Year award. His biggest venture was Communications Products, Inc., (CPI), a telecommunications company that he owned and operated for more than 35 years, until he retired at the age of 85. Cliff led by example and fostered a family-oriented environment at CPI, earning the company recognition as one of the top local places to work in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Cliff was an active member of the Anderson Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he served as a Deacon and taught an adult Sabbath School class for many years. Christian education was very important to him; he was passionate in his faith and his life was a witness to others.
