Clara Dean Ford

Clara Dean Ford, 83, Anderson, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at Edgewater Woods in Anderson following an extended illness. She was born on May 19, 1931, in Indianapolis, to Herbert and Cordelia (Hobbs) Taylor. Clara was a beauty operator for many years in the Lapel area and at one time had a shop in her rural Noblesville home. She was a member of the Daybreak Community Church; the Red Hat Society; the Eaton Home Ec Club; and a Sewing Club at Ashbury Point. She is survived by three daughters, Willa (husband, Stan) Hackleman of Pendleton, Wilma (husband, Ron) Carey of Anderson, and Carla (husband, David) Cole of Fishers; sixteen grandchildren, Bret Hackleman, Sheri Arehart, Stephanie Maher, Kelly Silvers, Tina Durbin, Chad Carey, Marcie Henry, Jennifer Ford, James Ford, II, Brandi Hammond, Mandi Kemerly, Valerie Walcott, Joanna James, Rebekah Edwards, Matthew Ford, and Lisa Ford; thirty-three; great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Freida Powell of Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, Billy H. Ford; three sons, James Ford, Bruce Ford, and Billy F. Ford; three sisters, Dorthea Townsend, Phyllis Finch, and Mary Lou McMillan; and two brothers, Herb and Dave Taylor. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, February 28, 2015, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Richard Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, February 27, 2015, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Daybreak Community Church, 1219 Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051.
