Christopher Calabria, 69, of Anderson, passed away February 26, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Cairo, Illinois, August 3, 1950 and was a 1969 graduate of Anderson High School. He was a graduate of the United Electronic School and had been an employee of Guide Lamp working as an Electrician. He retired from G.M. in 2003 after 30 years of service. Christopher was a self-reliant man. He liked his privacy but was generous in ways that no one knew. He was satisfied with taking care of his family, making things for his grandchildren and enjoying his music. Christopher is survived by his daughter and son, Misty Heichel and Michael McCord; grandchildren, Ryan (Destiny Davis) Calabria, Christopher “C.J.” (Lindsey Holt) Heichel, Darian Turner and Ashley McCord; great-grandchildren; Gracie, Zayan, Vivianna and Harper; several cousins; and a grand dog, Zoey. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Calabria; grandparents, Saverio “Samuel” and Anna Calabria; the mother of his children and love of his life, Marsha Berry Calabria; and several aunts and uncles including two uncles that died in WWII. Funeral Service will be 2 p.m., Monday, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, with Monsignor Robert Sell III officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service on Monday.
