Cheryl L. Mollenkopf, 61, Anderson, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012, at Community Northview Care Center in Anderson following an extended illness. She was born on October 12, 1950, in Anderson, Indiana to Norman and Ruth (Wastell) Mollenkopf. She graduated from Pendleton High School in 1969. Cheryl retired in 1990 from the former Guide Lamp division of General Motors in Anderson and had worked at the Anderson Red Lobster for many years. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority for 32 years. She is survived by a son, Garrett Cornell of Noblesville; a grandson, Logan Cornell of Anderson; a neice, Julie (husband, Steve) Larson of Eagan, MN; a sister-in-law, Cheryl Brockberg of Mankato, MN; three nephews, Jamie, Jason and Justin Mollenkopf; and special friends, Sharon Kowalski of Lapel, and Vanessa Courtney of Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents; a step-mother, Evelyn Mollenkopf; two brothers, Joe and Roger Mollenkopf; a niece, Jill Mollenkopf; and a great-nephew, Michael Larson. A sorority memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel by the Beta Sigma Phi followed by a memorial service with Pastor David Owens officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Cancer Care Center or the Madison County Humane Society.
