Charlsie Lee Purdue

Charlsie Lee (Yount) Purdue, 92, went home to be with the Lord on November 11, 2020.
She was born on July 19, 1928, in Rose Hill, Virginia, to Clyde and Nan Yount.
After moving to Indiana in her early 20's, she wed Melvin Purdue on April 3, 1953. At her death, they had been married for 67 years.
Charlsie devoted her life to the care of her family and their farm. She took great joy in the simple pleasures of growing flowers, reading a good book, and being outdoors amongst the birds and butterflies. Her indomitable spirit led the family in both times of joy and of struggle.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin, a son, Jeff (Vicky), a daughter, Teresa (Kris), her grandchildren, Nikki, Amanda, Greg, and Michael, and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved grandson, Nathan.Burial will be held at Grove Lawn Cemetery, Pendleton. There will be a graveside service on Monday at 2:00pm. (attendees must wear masks and social distancing will be maintained).
