Charlotte M. Marmon

April 6, 1931 — November 25, 2017

Charlotte M. (Mindling) Marmon, 86, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2017. She was born on April 6, 1931 in Watertown, Ohio, daughter of the late Saul and Elvina (Reinwald) Mindling. “Lottie” graduated from White Cross Methodist Nurses School, Columbus, Ohio, in 1952, and thrived as a medical-surgery nurse. Married in 1957, she and her husband, Earl Marmon, moved to Anderson in 1959. Over the last six decades, Lottie has volunteered and given leadership to many local organizations: Hillcrest Home for Girls, Victoria Guild, First United Methodist Church, Anderson Center for the Arts Women’s League, and Research Club to name a few. She devoted herself to raising her two daughters Amy (Dale) Erickson and Ellen Marmon. Lottie enjoyed working in her flower beds and reading a good book. Her favorite activity was preparing big meals for family and friends, especially over the holidays. Lottie loved being “Grandma” to Ben (Patricia) Erickson, and had many cherished nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband of 56 years, Earl F. Marmon; brother, Charles Mindling; sister, Leah (Mindling) Abrams; and grandson, Daniel Erickson. Visitation will be at First United Methodist Church, Anderson, from 10:30am to Noon on Wednesday, November 29. Lottie’s funeral service will follow immediately at Noon, officiated by Pastor Don Deena Johnson. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to First United Methodist Church Youth Group, 1215 Jackson St, Anderson, IN 46016 (http://andersonfirst.org/); or Anderson’s Animal Protection League (http://www.inapl.org/) 613 Dewey St. Anderson, IN 46016.
