Charles R. Rubenking, 90, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Bethany Pointe. He was born December 18, 1927 in Glenwood, Iowa to the late, Edward Franklin & Clara Mildred (Rhino) Rubenking. Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired as a tool & die maker from Inland Fisher Guide, after 43 years. Charles was a member of Central Christian Church. He and his wife were also members of the Madison County Promenaders Square Dance Club. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Joann (Sharpe) Rubenking; children, David (wife, Peggy) Rubenking and Debra (husband, Moises) Frias; grandchildren, Heather Surber, Kelly Coté, Megan Rycroft, and Erin Rubenking; five great grandchildren, Skyler & Baylie Boze, Hudson & Eliana Coté, and Finley Rycroft. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Vera Parkhurst, Catherine Campbell, Anna Wheeler, Carl Rubenking, & Cecil Reeder. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, with Pastor Rick Vale officiating. Burial will be at Grove Lawn Cemetery in Pendleton. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. The family would like to express their gratitude to Bethany Pointe, Kindred Hospice, and especially, Amanda Sharpe, for the care given to Charles.
