Charles H. Albea, Jr., 79, of Anderson, passed away peacefully at his residence after a brief illness on Friday, July 8, 2016.
He was born on September 29, 1936 in Greenfield to the late Charles and Thelma (Hite) Albea, Sr. and has lived in Anderson for the past 30 years. In 1993, he retired from Delco-Remy after 32 years of employment and then worked for Hoosier Park.
Charles was a member of the Eden Masonic Lodge 477, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and loved race horses, raising dogs, hunting, fishing and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mildred Marie (Clay) Albea of Anderson; son, Charles L. (Rose) Albea of Anderson; grandchildren, Brandon S. (Brandi) Albea, Justin L. (Lindsay Joy) Albea, Alisa (Kevin) Bowman and Leah Sexton Bowman; great grandchildren, Charli, Alli, Harper and Keegan; son-in-law, Rick Jenkin of Carmel; brother, Hubert (Phyllis) Albea of Anderson; sister, Bobbie (Ken) Sparks of Michigan; sister-in-law, Pearl Denniston; brother-in-law, James (Barb) Clay and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Thelma M. Jenkin; brother, Nemuel Albea; sisters, Delma Heiden and Betty Marshall.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor Dave Crittenden officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m.
