Charles Edward Morgan, who was affectionately known since childhood as both “Butch” and “Bones” by his family, was a lifelong resident of Anderson, IN. He was the first child born to the late Elder Eddie Sr. and Brooksie Morgan, founders of Ebenezer Apostolic Church in Anderson. He attended Hazelwood Elementary, Southside Middle and graduated in 1965 from Anderson High School, where he was an avid sports fan, and played on both the basketball and tennis teams. He attended Ball State University and received several certifications for his position as an electrician in skilled trades. His parents were not only strong supporters of obtaining a good education, but also of receiving spiritual instruction, after all, he was a “Preacher’s Kid (PK).” Therefore, Charles and his siblings attended Sunday School weekly. Charles was baptized as a youth at Christ Temple Apostolic Church under the pastorialship of Elder Armster Barnes, in Anderson. Charles was a protective brother, respectful son and an adoring father and grandfather who valued family and friendships. He was a hard-working man who worked two full-time jobs a good portion of his adult life so that his family did not want for anything. Charles retired from General Motors in 2018 after 53 years of service (43 years at Delco Remy in Anderson and 10 years at Allison Transmission in Indianapolis) and was a proud union member of UAW Local 993. He was also the proud owner of Morgan Electric Co. that he operated for many years, based in Anderson. He was a smooth jazz enthusiast and attended concerts whenever time permitted. He also enjoyed watching sporting events, games shows and spending time with family and friends. A devoted father and grandfather, he considered his children and grandchildren among his great accomplishments. He was a generous giver. If you were in need, he was there to help you in some tangible way. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, and he will never be forgotten. Charles, 74, transitioned to be with the Lord after an extended illness on April 6, 2021, at his home in Anderson surrounded by his family. Charles is survived by his three loving daughters, affectionately known as “Charlie’s Angels,” Lori Morgan, Noblesville; AnnGel (George) Pearson, Fortville; and Tiffany Morgan, Anderson; his adoring grandchildren, Teairra Mure’ Graves, Terrance Stedman Graves, Morgan Charnelle Newsom and one great-granddaughter, Ta’Riah Perine, all of Anderson. Morgan, Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
