Charles H. Solid, 98, of Anderson, passed away peacefully Tuesday, in Sheridan, in the care of his family. He was born in Onawa, Iowa to Herman and Susie (Dewey) Solid. He was a graduate of Anderson University. He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He was a member of Park Place Church of God and a volunteer at the food pantry. Working most of his life doing construction he built a multitude of Anderson homes. He is survived by his daughter, Charlene (Mack) Cermak; son, Garry Solid; grandchildren, Michelle McKenzie, Melissa Ward, Mark (Erin) Solid, Steele (Amber) Solid; twelve great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren with two due next month. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Roberta (Hardacre) Solid, grandson, Charles Matthew Solid; great grandson, Michael Crose; son-in-law Ron Henson; one brother and three sisters. A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. David Markle officiating.
