Catherine J. Holtzleiter

Catherine Junkersfeld Holtzleiter, 99, was born May 16,1922 in Pocahontas, Arkansas, to the late Peter and Coletta (Riga) Junkersfeld. She went to be with her Heavenly Father on June 20, 2021. She was the oldest of 10 children. She moved to Anderson at the age of 16 to work as a home aide and waitress, and later worked for Delco-Remy during WWII. She married Kenneth Holtzleiter on July 4th, 1946, and was a homemaker on the family farm. She is survived by her children, Stephen (Katherine) Holtzleiter, Vincent (Brenda) Holtzleiter, Paula Chapman, and David (Peggy Vendel) Holtzleiter; Grandchildren Laura (Matt) Eldridge, Eric (Stacey) Holtzleiter and their mother Virginia Clevenger, Adrianna (Dusty Huff) Holtzleiter, Kyle Holtzleiter, Amber (Eric Gardner) Holtzleiter, Tracy (Will) Davis, Josh (Julie) Chapman, Jason Chapman, Matthew Chapman, Tiffany (Sean) Phelps and Tailer (Ricky) Roberts and 13 great-grandchildren; sister Mary (Ron) Kimm; brothers Henry (Vee) Junkersfeld, Roy Junkersfeld; sister-in-laws Pat Junkersfeld, Kathy Junkersfeld and Janie Junkersfeld; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years on January, 21, 1984, her granddaughter Angela M. Holtzleiter, son-in-law Allan Chapman, sisters Hilda Gordan and Agnes Day, and brothers Raymond, Herman, Ernest and Phillip Junkersfeld. The family offers special thanks to her dedicated caretakers, Adrianna Holtzleiter and Janie Junkersfeld. Catherine was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Anderson, where she was also active in the Daughters of Isabella. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Friday at 11am with Father Tom Metzger officiating. Burial will follow at St Mary’s Cemetery. Family and Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Brown- Butz- Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013.
