Carolyn J. Neal, 80, of Anderson, passed away, Nov 7, 2017, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital. She was born May 16, 1937 in Anderson, the daughter of the late Wayne and Zula Baker. As a young child, the family moved to Middletown where she graduated from Middletown High School in 1955. She has lived in Anderson since 2010. Carolyn’s life was characterized by her faith and family. She had been an active member of the First Baptist Church and a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, sewing, and working in her flower garden. She is survived by her son and daughter, Mark (Carol) Neal of Byron Center, Mich. and Debbie (Bill) Hoyt of Middletown; grandchildren, Jenny (Jeff) Ley, Andy (Tracy) Hoyt and Matt Neal; great grandchildren, Lilly Ley, Liam Ley, Keegan Bealor and Kelby Bealor; a brother, Maurice (Pam) Baker, and several nieces and nephews. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Neal. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with Pastor Art Jaggard officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory.
