Carole Jean Loughman, 71, Anderson, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2009, at Saint John's Health System in Anderson following a brief illness.
She was born on April 5, 1938, in Lapel, Indiana to Ora and Sarilda (Bohall) Hooper.
Carole had been a cashier at the former Fortville Pharmacy and Stroughs Market and retired as a CNA from Saint John's Health System in Anderson.
Her hobbies included reading the Anderson newspaper, following her grandchildren's activities, watching sports on television and bird watching on her patio
She is survived by four children, Denae (husband, Scott) Alyne of Anderson, Brian (wife, Debbie) Loughman of Anderson, Greg (wife, Deanna) Loughman of Anderson, and Michelle Hooper (fiance, Sean Cawthon) of Noblesville; two sisters, Beverly (husband, Jack) Dashiell of Noblesville, and Sherry McCorkle of Anderson; one brother, David Hooper of Anderson; seven grandchildren, Shawnna, Brandy, Bryce, Brock, Mason, Collin, and Reid; four great-grandchildren, Destinee, Jaylon, Jeremiah, and Jonah; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Dennis Hooper and Dickie Hooper; and a sister, Terri Jarrell.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Jesse Flood officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hamilton County Humane Society, 1721 Pleasant Street, Noblesville, Indiana 46060-3621.
