Carol Joy (Dew) Ruh, 70, Anderson, passed away August 26, 2016, at Community Hospital of Anderson after a brief illness. She was born October 25, 1945, in Anderson, the daughter of the late George and Marie Dew. She was a 1963 graduate of Madison Heights High School and a Beauty Queen. She worked the past 22 years for Anderson Community Schools in the Alternative School Program and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Carol was a loving homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She was a thoughtful and selfless person who loved spending time with her family and friends, taking care of her flowers and birds and looking forward to the weekends with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 49 years and high school sweetheart, Steve L. Ruh of Anderson; two children, Stephan Ruh and Alison Paige Ruh both of Anderson; three grandchildren, Olivia Foskuhl, Alex Foskuhl and Lucas Poynter; nieces and nephews, Rene (David) Hartman, Sandy (Randy) Hatfield, Chasey Howells, Mike Breckenridge, Scott Rodecap, Steve (Emily) Rodecap and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Alyce Breckenridge and Diana Mabrey; and her in-laws, Stephan and Virginia Ruh. Service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor Matthew Manning officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
