Carl W. Williams, 89, of Anderson passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2016, after being diagnosed with multiple myeloma. He was born June 7, 1927, in Patricksburg, Indiana, to Renos and Beulah Williams. He served as Seaman First Class in the U.S. Navy and served on the USNTS Great Lakes Illinois and the USS Rendova CVE 114, earning a Victory Medal and an American Area Campaign Medal. He lived with his family in Indianapolis for most of his life and worked as a shipping supervisor for Best Lock. Earlier in his life, his work took him and his family to Phoenix, Ariz., and Pittsburgh, Pa. He moved to Anderson to be near family in the early ’80s and retired in 1987. Survivors include wife Lavada; daughters, Dara Williams and Linda (Bill) Burgess; son Jack (Karen) Williams; grandchildren, Sarah (Matt) Brothers, Aaron (Michelle) Burgess, and Jesse (Holly) Williams, great grandchildren; Sam Brothers and Graham Williams; a brother, Lawrence (Mary) Williams; and good friend James Hendrix. For many years, Carl was part of the Christian fellowship families of North Anderson Church of God and Madison Park Church of God.
