Candace Ashby

Candace (Moreland) Ashby, 82, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025 at her residence in Carmel, IN.  She was born on August 17, 1942, in Anderson, the daughter of Fred Moreland and Joan (Mellinger) Wood.

Candy graduated from Pendleton High School in 1960.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching golfers at her Florida residence. Candy had in her early life worked as a secretary.

She is survived by her husband Jack Ashby, her sons, Christopher Ashby and Michael Ashby; 5 grandchildren, Oliver, Sejon, Dalma, Jack-Ryan, and Connor Ashby and great-grandson Griffin Ashby.

Candy was preceded in death by her parents; Joann (Mellinger) Wood and Fred Moreland.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Bozell Funeral Homes-Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State St., Pendleton, IN, 46064. A funeral service will follow after visitation at 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Anderson Memorial Park.
