C. William (Bill) Gale, 92, Fishers, formerly of Anderson, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2011, at IU Health North Hospital in Carmel following an extended illness. He was born on October 21, 1919, in Anderson, Indiana to Earl and Martha (Jester) Gale. He graduated from Anderson High School in 1937 and attended both Purdue and Ball State Universities. Bill served in the U. S. Army Air Force during World War II and was primarily stationed in Hawaii. He retired in 1980 from the former Delco Remy division of General Motors in Anderson after 40 years of employment. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Anderson for the past 79 years and the Anderson Noon Exchange Club. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Elizabeth (Baciu) Gale; three children, Bill (wife, Linda) Gale of Anderson, Diane (husband, Steve) Alfrey of Anderson, and Jim (wife, Lynn) Gale of Fishers; four grandchildren, Mark (wife, Jennifer) Gale of Lewisville, TX, Megan (husband, Todd) McCutcheon of Evansville, Josh (wife, Heather) Alfrey of Clermont, FL, and Jeremy Gale of Greenwood; two great-granddaughters, Sydney Borutta and Elizabeth Alfrey; three brothers, Harold (wife, Jeanne) Gale of Delaware, Earl Gale of Colorado Springs, CO, and Charles (wife, Roberta) Curtis of San Diego, CA; one sister, Nancy (husband, Larry) Mechem of Noblesville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Horace E. Gale; and two sisters, Corinne Brinduse and Melva Murphy. Visitation will be from 2:15 pm to 3:15 pm Tuesday, November 22, 2011, followed by a funeral service at First Baptist Church, 907 North Raible Avenue, Anderson, IN 46011-9296 with Dr. Art Jaggard and Pastor Ella Louise Peyton officiating. Entombment will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 907 North Raible Avenue, Anderson, IN 46011-9296 or the charity of the donor's choice.
