Brenda was loving, caring and compassionate in everything she did in her personal life and professional career. Her love of family was at her core. After adopting her first retired racing greyhound Fly M North, she set her sights on adopting Norths other siblings that were actively racing. Through diligent work, a mix of the right connections, and luck, she was able to adopt her brother Fly M West in Tulsa, OK. In her true spirit, she was able to make a 20 hour round trip into an adventure to bring West home. The sweet and loving reunion of brother and sister was the pinnacle of what Brenda strove for.She was born on November 15, 1972 in Anderson, Indiana to Robert and Joyce Edgecomb.Brenda was a 1991 graduate of Frankton High School and later graduated from Ivy Tech in 1997 earning her Associates Degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant. She met Mark Flick in Sunday School at the age of 16 and began dating shortly thereafter. They were married on July 2nd, 1994.Brenda was a proud mother of two daughters, Ashley (Parker) Williams and Allison Flick. She is also survived by her mother, Joyce Edgecomb of Anderson; Mother and Father-in-law, Ronald and Vickie Flick of Granger, Indiana; brother and sister-in-law, Matthew (Amanda) Flick of Elkhart, Indiana; brother-in-law Aaron Blackford, of Frankton, Indiana; she was also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by, her father, Robert Edgecomb, and her sister, Cheryl Blackford. To pursue a lifelong dream, in June of 2019, Brenda and her family picked up their Midwest roots and moved south, to Aiken, South Carolina. The first requirement in purchasing a new home was a very large fenced backyard to allow all of the dogs to run and play, followed by proximity to an OrangeTheory Fitness workout gym.Brenda loved to travel, explore, and find new breweries. She enjoyed cruises and going to the beach. You thoroughly could tell her smile was different and better on a vacation or a cruise.Wherever she was, that was the place to be. Even at home, she preferred quiet time with Mark and the dogs, grilling out, and just spending time together. After a hard fought battle with an extended illness, Brenda passed away peacefully at home at 5:00am on Saturday, May 22nd surrounded by her immediate family, Parker Williams, and her pets.A funeral service will be held at 10:00am Saturday May 29, 2021 at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051 with Rev.
