Blaine A. Coomer, 61, Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at Countryside Meadows in Avon following an extended illness. He was born on January 24, 1952, in Anderson, Indiana to James and Nell (Herrell) Coomer. He graduated from Lapel High School in 1970 and graduated from Vincennes University. Blaine retired in 2007 from Allison Transmission division of General Motors in Speedway after 29 years of employment. He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church in Speedway. He is survived by his wife, Terri Coomer; three sons, Andrew, Jacob, and Blake Coomer all of Indianapolis; one granddaughter, Morgan Clark; and a brother, Gary (wife, Nancy) Coomer of Springboro, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Cory Clark; a granddaughter, Jenna Clark; and a brother, Jeff Coomer. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, September 27, 2013, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Friday, September 27, 2013, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Parkinson Foundation, 10936 Gresham Place, Noblesville, IN 46060.
