Billy Joe Hobbs

Billy Joe Hobbs, 60, Anderson, passed away Friday, November 1, 2019, at Saint Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis following an extended illness.He was born on July 29, 1959, in Big Stone Gap, Virginia to Herbert H. Hobbs Sr. and Ruth (Wells) Hobbs.Joe graduated from Lapel High School in 1977. He retired from Owens Illinois (Brockway) Glass in Lapel. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and being outdoors. He enjoyed coaching his daughters sports teams throughout the years. He is survived by his daughter Ashley Hobbs of Fishers; mother, Ruth Hobbs of Lapel; siblings, Sharon (Estes) Boles of Lapel, Shirley (Rich) Ligman of Lapel, Herb Hobbs Jr. of Shirley, Glen (Marla) Hobbs of Anderson, Randy Hobbs of Anderson. He was also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a special friend, Susan Ringvelski. Billy was preceded in death by his father.A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana with Tyson Priest officiating.
