Billy H. Ford

Billy H. Ford, 82, Pendleton, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Edgewater Woods in Anderson following an extended illness.
He was born on October 6, 1925, in Anderson, Indiana to James and Lula (Hurlock) Ford.
He graduated from Lapel High School in 1943.
Billy retired in 1987 from the former Guide Lamp division of General Motors.
He was a member of the Lone Oak Wesleyan Church. Bill loved horses and farming and enjoyed all sports.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Clara (Taylor) Ford; three daughters, Willa (husband, Stan) Hackleman of Pendleton, Wilma (husband, Ron) Carey of Anderson, and Carla (husband, David) Cole of Pendleton; sixteen grandchildren, Bret Hackleman, Sheri Arehart, Stephanie Maher, Kelly Silvers, Tina Durbin, Chad Carey, Marcie Henry, Jennifer Ford, James Ford, II, Brandi Baker, Mandi Kemerly, Valerie Walcott, Joanna Anderson, Rebekah Cole, Matthew Ford and Lisa Ford; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sons, James Ford, Bruce Ford, and Billy F. Ford; and three sisters, Ruth Anderson, Nancy Hale, and Sarah Lawson.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Revs. Kenneth Sandefur and Bill Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Day Break Community Church building fund.
