Billy E. Barnes, 69, Anderson, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born on June 22, 1938, in Anderson, Indiana to Clifford and Beulah (Gardner) Barnes.
Billy had been employed for many years by Lapel Grain and Mori Sales as a truck driver and had been employed for the last three years at the 29th Street Cafe.
He is survived by his companion of 29 years, Debbie Davis; four children, Beverly Barnes, Jim Barnes (companion, Linda Cook) of Anderson, Vicky Spratt of Kentucky, and Lavonna L. Ford (companion, Armando Aguirre) of Anderson; two sisters, Martha Walters, and Linda Garcia both of Florida; several grandchildren including, Linda Aguirre, Chris Barnes, Kimberly Benge, LeeAnna Benge, Billy Ford, and Billy Gerber; and several great-grandchildren; his beloved dogs, Bobo, Little Bit, and Pee Wee; and several friends.
He was preceded in death by, his parents; his wife, Linda Barnes; and one brother, Jack Barnes.
Funeral will be held at 11:00 am Saturday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
