Billie Marvin Hendricks, 86, Anderson, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018, at his home following an extended illness.
He was born on September 22, 1932, in Pendleton to Herman A. and Eva Mae (Sturdevant) Hendricks.
Billie was graduated from Lapel High School in 1950 and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.
He retired from farming in December of 1992.
Billie was a member of the Lapel American Legion Post 212; and was active in the Duroc Association. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching his children and grandchildren play high school sports, IU Basketball, and the Cincinnati Reds.
He is survived by his wife, Dianna (Pierson); six children, Richard Hendricks, Douglas Hendricks, Timothy (Pam) Hendricks, Ruth Ann (Chuck) Iser, Carol Pierson, Joseph Lee (Cheryl) Hendricks; two step-children, Robert (Tracy) Hatfield and Janice Skeel; fifteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Myron (Kathy) Hendricks.
Billie was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Carolyn Jo (Milburn); two brothers, Harry and David; a sister, Norma Snyder; and a son-in-law, Donald Pierson.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel with Pastor Glenn Knepp officiating. Private burial will be in Brookside Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
