Bettye Phillips Redenbaugh

Bettye Phillips Redenbaugh, 79, of Anderson, passed away Monday, January 12, 2015 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Chesterfield.

Bettye was born March 2, 1935 in Monterey, TN, the daughter of the late William Jasper and Dora (Phipps) Phillips. She has lived in the area most of her adult life.

On June 20, 1962 she married Joseph Redenbaugh. She retired from Delco-Remy in 1990 after 36 years of service. Bettye was a member of the Ovid Community Church and enjoyed bird watching, cooking and traveling in their R.V. Mostly she enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to Joseph, she is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Ken) Ryden of Yorktown; step-daughters, Joyce (Al) Stoner of Chesterfield and Theresa (Mike) Koester of Anderson; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters, Georgia Mitchell, Nancy Turner, Thelma Buckner and Shirley Whitaker; sister-in-law, Mary Phillips; and special friend, Myrna Neal.

Bettye was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Walker; granddaughter, Barbara Stoner; 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

Services will be at 1pm, Friday, at the Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, with Pastor Keith Wooden officiating. Burial will take place at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Thursday and Noon-1pm, Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Center, the Salvation Army or the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
