Betty Wampler

December 23, 1931 — March 6, 2010

Betty Wampler, 78, Lapel, was promoted to Glory Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis following a sudden illness.
She was born on December 23, 1931, in Anderson, Indiana to Perry and Myrel (Hethcote) Baker.
She graduated from Lapel High School in 1950 and received a diploma from Great Commission Bible School.
Betty retired in 1996 from Fort Benjamin Harrison Army Finance Center in Indianapolis.
She was a member of the West Cross Street Alliance Church
Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 50 years, Donald Wampler; one daughter, Ruth (husband, Bill) Davis of Alexandria; five grandchildren, Kathryn (fiance, John Green), Brittany, Rex, Dalton, and Morgan Davis; one brother, Charlie (wife, Lou) Baker of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jim Baker; and two sisters, Virginia Barkalow, and Helen Riggs.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastors Bob Brown and Jerry Hilligoss officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to West Cross Street Alliance Church, 3102 West Cross Street, Anderson, Indiana 46011.
