Betty Ruth Tebbe

Betty Ruth Tebbe, 82, Tipton, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2014, at Clay County Hospital in Celina, TN following an extended illness. She was born on August 7, 1932, in Clay County, Tennessee to James and Ruby (Boles) Hull. Betty retired in 1994 from O-I Brockway Glass in Lapel after 42 1/2 years of employment. She was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tipton and formerly Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel; and the Glass Molders, Pottery, Plastics & Allied Workers Industrial Union Local 207 where she had held many offices and served as a union organizer. She is survived by her husband, James Tebbe; one son, Bennie (wife, Lou Anne) Jennings of Anderson; four grandchildren, Robert (wife, Maryann) Jennings of Anderson, Joseph (wife, Joy) Jennings of Noblesville, Andrea (husband, Jon) Westphal of Anderson, and Elizabeth (husband, Trevor) Cress of Indianapolis; three great-grandchildren, Caleb, Layla, and Lucy Jennings; two brothers, Charlie and Cordell Hull; two sisters, Josie Montgomery and Minnie Delph; six step-children, Theresa Bartz, Martha Tebbe, Linda Staton, Rita Martin, Michael Tebbe, and Christa Willis; eight step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Fred Jennings; her second husband, John Wilson; a son, Freddie Jennings; three brothers, Dallas, Vain, and Stanley Hull; and two sisters, Elsie Hull and Rosie Netherton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, September 4, 2014, at St. John the Bapist Catholic Church in Tipton with Father Christopher Shocklee officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel where a wake service will be held at 7:00 pm. A graveside service will be at 10:00 am Saturday, September 6, 2014, at Prosperity Cemetery in Alexandria, TN with Father Robert Jennings officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Arthritis Foundation.
