Betty Lou McNeil

Betty Lou McNeil passed away October 19, 2024 at Rawlins House in Pendleton, Indiana. She was born in Anderson on November 12, 1931 to Ebbert and Lydia Dietrich Baute. Her family moved to Middletown, Indiana as a 7th grader and she graduated from Middletown High School in 1949.

Betty married Robert G. McNeil after high school, and this union lasted for 63 years until his death in 2012. During this time, she worked at Star China for 17 years and then enrolled in the Anderson School of Nursing at the age of 50. Upon graduation, she was employed as an LPN and retired from St. John's Hospital. She also helped with the Friendship Class at East Side Church of God for 15 years.

Surviving Betty are her children Steve (Diane) McNeil, Deanna Banks and Bret (Tammy) McNeil; Grandchildren include Dustin (Robin) Banks, Jennifer (Danny) Hodgins, Ryan Banks, Audra (Chris) Dittlinger, Paul McNeil, Brian McNeil and Brad (Becca) McNeil; Great-Grandchildren include Tanner (Ashley Loyd), Rhett, Austin, Kendall (Connor Fortune), Madison, Cody (Haley), Anissa, Bennett, Nehemiah and Bray; Great-Great-grandchildren, Hudson, Ridge and Reagan; and Brother, Harold Baute.

She was preceded in death by her parents; & brothers, John and Gene Baute.

A funeral service will be held at Bozell Funeral Homes, Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 1:00 pm, Monday, October 28, 2024 with Rev. Dr. Anita Jack officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery, Middletown, Indiana. Visitation will be from 11-1pm on Monday at the funeral home.

She loved God, family and life. Her favorite bible verse was Hebrews 13:5 which states "I will never leave you or forsake you."
