Betty Mary Brownfield, 92, of Anderson, passed away August 14, 2019, at Countryside Manor. Betty was born January 13, 1927, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Charles and Helen Brownfield and moved to Anderson at the age of seven. She graduated from St. Mary High School in 1945 as the class valedictorian and then earned an Associate Degree, in international business from the Indiana School of Business. Betty was a secretary in the Tool and Die division of Guide Lamp for 39 years, retiring in 1991. Betty loved her church families at St. Mary and St. Ambrose Churches. She treasured her friends and enjoyed sharing meals and traveling with them. She enjoyed taking Catholic pilgrimages, loved to travel, visiting places like Ireland and the Holy Land, and had been around the world twice. She is survived by her nephew and niece, Dr. John (Deborah) Rock and Rebecca (Michael) Coffey; grand nieces and nephews, Emily Rock, John Coffey and James Coffey. Betty was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Rock; and a grand nephew, Joseph Rock. The family will receive friends at St. Ambrose at 9:30 am. Friday, at which time a rosary service will commence. Visitation will follow the rosary beginning at 10 a.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, August 16, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Monsignor Robert Sell III officiating. Burial will follow at St Mary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society or Masses for Betty.
