Betty L. Walters, 88, of Anderson, passed away April 12, 2015 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital

She was born in Anderson on February 17, 1927, the daughter of the late Charles and Lula (Ellingwood) Stanley and has lived in the area all of her life. She was a member of the Middletown High School Class of 1944

Betty married Jack Walters on July 17, 1972. She retired from Indiana Bell where she worked as a supervisor. She was a member of Anderson Baptist Church, where she participated in many church activities. She also liked travel, cooking, reading and family activities with her children and grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her husband; children, Judy (John) Hill of Anderson and Janet Salter of Indianapolis; grandsons, Jason (Missy) Bell and his father Jimmy Bell of Pendleton, Sean Salter and Nick Salter both of Michigan; great-granddaughter, Ella Grace Bell, step-great-grandsons J.T. and Quinton Alverson; sisters-in-law, Mary Yost, Jennie (Ross) Becker and Katie Knoblock.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Herb Maxwell; sisters, Ruth Kuklenski, Nettie Yates, Wanda Green and Edith Corwin; brothers Paul Stanley and Bill Stanley; and son-in-law Bill Salter.

Services will be at 1pm Thursday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor David Warren officiating. Entombment will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
