Ms. Betty Joann Heffernan

Betty JoAnn Heffernan, 83, of Anderson, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017, in Lima, Ohio. She was born January 7, 1934, in Anderson to the late Clyde & Cletis (Stewart) Connelly. JoAnn was a 1952 graduate of Markleville High School and a member of the Bible Tabernacle Church in Muncie. JoAnn was a dedicated mother and wife. She loved to read but also enjoyed sewing and crocheting. JoAnn is survived by her four children, Bruce B. Heffernan of Anderson, Kevin (Esta) Heffernan of Anderson, Dwight (Melissa) Heffernan of Rossville and Jill (John) Smoll of Elida, Ohio; a sister, Rozella Baldwin; eleven grandchildren, Leah Cottrell, Daniel Heffernan, Zachary Heffernan, Mathew Heffernan, Brittany Smith, Samuel Heffernan, Michaela Heffernan, Aaron Smoll, Solomon Heffernan, Johanna Smoll and Joshua Smoll; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Billy Heffernan; and brother, Cline Connelly. Service will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 27, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Rev. Ed Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
