Betty J. Stewart

Betty J. Stewart, 84, former Anderson resident, passed away Friday, October 7, 2011, at Meadow Lakes in Mooresville following an extended illness.
She was born on February 25, 1927, in Patoka, Indiana to Hedric and Audra (Jones) Jones.
Betty retired from the former Guide Lamp division of General Motors in Anderson after 30 years of employment.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel; the Lapel Lady Lions.
She is survived by her daughter, Vickie (husband, Terry) Bennett of Plainfield; two grandsons, Tom (wife, Jennifer) Bennett of Houston, TX, and Tony (wife, Tammy) Bennett of Wilmington, NC; four great-grandchildren, Micala, Cade, Callie, and Madison; and several nieces and nephews including Bob and Richard Jones.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Leland Wayne "Stew" Stewart.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Doug Barton officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
