Betty J. Meyer

Betty J. Meyer, 81, Anderson, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015, at St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis following an extended illness. She was born on June 24, 1933, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to James and Catherine (Dull) Ware. She graduated from Anderson High School in 1951. Betty retired from St. John's Health System in 2007 after 25 years of employment. She is survived by her husband, John T. Schuyler of Lapel; three children, Candy Meyer, Joe Meyer, and Chris Meyer all of Anderson; five grandchildren, Colaina Griffin, Shelby Meyer, Erin Meyer, Hanna Meyer, and Austin Meyer; two great-grandchildren, Brayden and Ava Griffin; two step-sons, Gary (wife, Gail) Schuyler of Anderson and Bobby (wife, Stephanie) Schuyler of Lapel; three step-grandsons, Billy Hegwood (companion, Grace Saxton) of Anderson, Zachary (wife, Lyndsy) Schuyler of Frankton, and Stone Schuyler of Lapel; and two step-great-grandchildren, Liam and Avery Schuyler. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Patty Speedy; and a granddaughter, Jozette Meyer. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, February 7, 2015, at East Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson with Pastor Doug Barton officiating and burial will follow. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association.
