Betty J. Barker, 91, of Anderson, passed away October 8, 2017 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus after a brief illness. She was born in Summitville on February 12, 1926, to the late Rolla and Mary Dean and had lived in Anderson for the past 40 years. She retired from Delco-Remy after 22 years of service. Betty was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church, the Red Hat Society and enjoyed playing bingo. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Barker of Anderson; her son, Clark O. (wife, Cathy) Barker, II of Anderson; three grandchildren, Brandon Barker of Indianapolis, Chaz (wife, Danielle) Barker of Deltona, FL. and Lindsey (fiancé, R.J.) Barker of Anderson; two great grandchildren, Noah Pile and Paxton Barker; brothers, Robert (wife, Shirley Lee) Dean of Alexandria, Jack (wife, Wreatha) Dean of Alexandria; sister, Shirley (husband, Jerry) Payne of Fairmount and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter and a sister. Services will be 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor John Hackney officiating. Burial will be in Vinson Cemetery in Summitville. Visitation will be 10:00-12:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
