Betty Lou Flatford, 82, of Anderson passed away on January 28, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. Betty was born in New Tazewell, Tennessee on August 20, 1942 to the late Curtis E. and Hazel C. (Cutshaw) Peace. She married the love of her life, Luther Lee Flatford, on December 21, 1959 and the two were married for 60 years before his passing in 2020. Betty found her spiritual home at Alexandria Missionary Baptist Church before they closed.

Betty will be dearly missed by her son, Ronnie L. (Andrea Mathis) Flatford; daughter, Angelia B. Ice; granddaughters, Bethany A. Wire, Corbin L. (Jason) Holloway, and Sara M-R Steinhardt; great-granddaughters, Freya Steinhardt and Rosaland Wire; sisters, Bonnie Warwick and Joann Smelser; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Luther; brothers, Fred A. Peace, Robert H. Smelser, and Curtis Peace, Jr.; sister, Elsie M. Powell; brother-in-law, Nolan N. Powell; and nephews, Craig Peace and Michael A. Powell.

Betty's services will be private for family only. Burial will take place in East Maplewood Cemetery. Betty's services have been entrusted to Bozell Funeral Homes-Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel.
