Betty L. Diley

Betty L. Diley, 96, long time Anderson resident, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024 in Cynthiana, Kentucky with her family by her side. She was born September 23, 1928 in Mishawaka, Indiana the daughter of Roy and Maude (Smith) Dick. She graduated from Elkhart High School in 1946. She married Jack Diley on June 6, 1948. Betty and Jack enjoyed 58 years of marriage before his passing in 2006.

Betty worked as a manager at Indiana Bell in Muncie for 42 years, retiring in 1991. After retiring from Indiana Bell, she worked part-time at Urban Studio floral design for several years. Betty was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, where she served on the Altar Guild and volunteered at the food bank. Betty was a member of Altrusa Club. In her spare time, Betty enjoyed ceramics, reading and spending time with her friends and family.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Amy (Kevin) Hargrave of Georgetown, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Cole Hargrave and Kylie Hargrave both of Lexington, Kentucky; a sister, Jerrie Livingston of Danville, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; brother, George Dick; and sisters, Evelyn Thrapp and Dorothy Cunningham.

Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, January 3, 2025 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Bozell Funeral Home, Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 East 53rd Street, Anderson, Indiana 46013.

Funeral service will be Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 1:00pm with one hour of visitation prior at St. John's Lutheran Church, 310 East 53rd Street, Anderson with Pastor Matt Manning presiding. Burial will be at East Maplewood Cemetery.
