Bette Ackerman, 92, of Lapel, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Community Hospital of Anderson following a brief illness.She was born on October 17, 1929, in Lapel, Indiana to Bruno Troutman and Hazel (Gwinn) Troutman.Bette graduated from Lapel High School class of 1947, and then furthered her education at Anderson College and Ball State University.She retired as the Dean of Girls at East Side Junior High School in Anderson.Bette attended Prairie Baptist Church in Noblesville. She had many hobbies that she enjoyed doing such as: painting, music, and playing the organ.She is survived by her daughter, Amelia (John) Milner of Pendleton; grandchildren, Chris (Rachel) Milner of Lapel, and Amanda (Josh) Wheeler of Lapel; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Liam Milner, and Cicely Wheeler; and several nieces and nephews.Bette was preceded in death by parents; her husband Jack Ackerman; brother, Jim Troutman; sister. Marietta Caster; and her daughter, Carolyn Sisson.A graveside service will be held at 1:15 PM on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Prairie Memorial Cemetery, 14790 East 206th Street, Noblesville, Indiana with Rev. Alan Muxlow officiating.Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Thursday at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 N.
