Berniece Grimes, 89, Anderson, formerly of Noblesville, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2005, at Saint John's Health System in Anderson following a brief illness.
She was born on September 2, 1916, in Clinton County, Indiana to Charlie and Mabel (Rector) VanMeter. She retired in 1982 as a cook for Hamilton Southeastern Schools. She was a member of the Prairie Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Bradley Grimes; five children, Carolyn Jean (husband, John) Blazier of Pendleton, Larry (wife, Mary) Grimes of Pendleton, Charlotte (husband, Joe) Ridgeway of Winchester, Jeff (wife, Jodi) Grimes of Anderson, and Teresa (husband, Ed) Harkness of Edmore, MI; one sister, Martha (husband George) Doherty of Noblesville, fourteen grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel, with Rev. Bob Williams officiating. Burial will be at the Prairie Memorial Cemetery in rural Noblesville. Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.
