Berniece D. Stinson

Berniece D. Stinson, 80, passed away Monday, June 26, 2023.

She was born August 11, 1942, in Anderson to the late, Gerald & Eleanor (Belmore) Broshar. Berniece was a 1960 graduate of Markleville High School and then received her Cosmetology degree. She owned & operated her own hair salon for several years after managing other locations. Berniece was known for cooking but especially her baking. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending tractor shows with her husband.

Berniece is survived by her husband of 61 years, James E. Stinson; children, Ronald (April) Stinson & April (Wallace) Anderson; grandchildren, Megan (Stephen) McGrady, Gregory (Caitlin) Anderson, Danielle (Matthew) Bauman, & Samantha Stinson; great grandchildren, Emma & Avery McGrady, and Soren Anderson; siblings, Patricia (Dale) Wenning, Larry (Martha) Broshar, Janene (Steve) Jackson, & Denise Welch; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her infant children, Tracey Ilene & Brian Scott Stinson.

Services will be at Noon Saturday, July 1, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of services at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Animal Protection League or to Madison County Humane Society.
