Bernard “Bernie” Lorenzo Burgan, 90, of Anderson passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at his home. He was born on December 12, 1929, in Anderson, to Paul and Mabel Burgan and was a life-long resident of Anderson. Bernie was a 1948 graduate of Anderson High School. He attended General Motors Institute, and was a 1959 graduate of Anderson College. He worked at General Motors – Guide Division as an engineer for 32 years. He was a member of Madison Park Church of God. As an avid sky watcher, he made his own telescope and believed totally in God and the universe. His motto was, “vaya con dios” (go with God), and he did. Bernie is survived by his wife, Paula Burgan; son, David N. (Diana) Burgan of Ossian and Martin J. (Susie) Burgan, of Bluffton; step-daughters, Cindy (Monte) Montgomery of Greenfield and Julie Leet of Indianapolis; 12 grandchildren, Shan, Corey, David, Betsy, Kella, Matthew, Dana, Abby, Mitchel, Megan, Adam, and Sylvia; and 13 ½ great-grandchildren; sister, Karen Hester of Anderson; brothers-in-law, Roger (Beverly) Kellams of Carmel and Richard (Melinda) Kellams of Nashville, TN; son-in-law, Tim Sheridan; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Rosalyn (Combs) Burgan; son, Steve Burgan; and daughter, Gina Sheridan A virtual service officiated by Rev.
