Bennie Odell Cravens

Bennie Odell Cravens, 76, of Anderson, died Tuesday October 20, 2020 after a brief illness. He was born April 5, 1944 in Livingston, TN to Chester and Ida Cravens. On December 20, 1966 he married Wanda Sue Melton. He served in the US Army for two years, including a year in Vietnam. He retired from General Motors after 29 ½ years of service. He was a member of American Legion Post 127 for more than 30 years. He loved spending time with his family, fishing and coaching Little League. Bennie is survived by his wife, Wanda Sue Cravens; son, Dave (Diane) Cravens; daughter, Mechelle (Mike) Beechboard; son, Greg (Earon) Cravens; ex-daughter-in-law, Kenzie Ash; grandchildren, Drew (Jada) Cravens, Jaren (Sara) Cravens, and Cheyenne Beechboard; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Friday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor Tim Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors provided by the Daleville American Legion Post 446 Honor Guard. Visitation will be Thursday, 4:00pm – 8:00pm at the funeral home.
