Barbara Y. Stohler

Barbara Y. Stohler, 77, Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014, in her home following a six-month illness. She was born on September 5, 1936, in Pendleton, Indiana to Garnet and Mildred (Gephart) Stohler. She graduated from Pendleton High School in 1954. Barbara retired from the downtown Indianapolis branch of the U. S. Post Office and had also been employed at one time by the F. B. I. in Indianapolis. She was a member of the Parker City Christ Fellowship and Zion on to Christ in Anderson. She was an avid gardener and loved animals. She is survived by one sister, Pat Plummer of Lapel; one niece, Debbie (husband, Brad) Bunnell of Lapel, six nephews, Fred (wife, Sally) Bergman of Valporaiso, Jeff (wife, Kathy) Bergman and Greg (wife, Susan) Bergman both of Fishers, Mike (Jerri Buck) Plummer of Anderson, Denny (wife, Julie) Plummer of Muncie, and Dan (wife, Brenda) Owens of Indianapolis; and several great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marilyn Dyer and Donna Bergman; and a niece, Joy Gillespie. A funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastors Emery Reese and Kim Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
